Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Niagara Technology is a leading designer of Central Processing board (CPU) technology and various controller and video cards. Niagara boards utilize x86 technology in embedded or popular AT, ATX, LPX size and industrial DOS and Windows markets. For sophisticated applications the newest CPU boards include DEC Alpha processor to cover Unix, NT and VMS requirements for Servers and Workstations. Niagara Technology was established to complement designs made by its sister firm -Unibys Inc.- and to engineer computer boards and the controller and videocards required for complete and functional computer systems. Niagara installed a surface mount board assembly line in Toronto to manufacture computer circuit boards with a capacity to produce 100,000 boards annually. Areas of application where Niagara's boards are used include Network and UNIX Servers, Graphic and Animation Workstations, Industrial Control computers and other quality environments in which the ISA, PCI, or Compact PCI bus standards are used. Traditionally, Niagara Technology has served Original Equipment (OEM) clients with design services, but now also supplies full and bare systems. A partial list of customers in Canada for systems include: Price Waterhouse, Ontario Hydro, Westinghouse, University of Toronto (Niagara Computing Facility at the Faculty of Social Work). In Europe: Weico Computer, Itos Computer, Norsk Industrie, Sirex.
